Faith Connexion – Fall-Winter 2022 – Paris Fashion Week

Original Article

Faith Connexion continues to reinterpret its guiding principles with every new season, finding renewal through its roots.

Fall-Winter 2022 introduces the Maison’s original logotype: half Gothic, half bling, an expression of a too much is never enough attitude straight out of the 2000s, the era that gave birth to the brand. An artist who has collaborated with 8 for years was given carte blanche in its reincarnation. His brand new logo form as well as updated logotypes are omnipresent in a variety of formats and volumes this season. These embroideries adorn a reimagined 50s style women’s tweed suit, silkscreened on the back of a hooded micro bomber, and running the length of a pair of jeans, right down to the heels of the shoes. A series of portraits of cool kids, the “usual suspects”, are presented here almost as a gallery of replicas. The models’ silhouettes are deceptively simple, set against the backdrop of skintight black and white turtlenecks that make them look like display mannequins in shops. Both men and women wear identical wigs, a social commentary on the emptiness of a standardized society. With this stark backdrop, the pieces of the collection embody individuality and tell each participant’s story. Of course, the Maisons codes and icons are present and accounted for. Shearlings (often reversible) are back in the form of luxurious hoodies with leopard printed fur. The lavaliere adorns a long lurex dress with a sunburst-pleated skirt. A play on patterns animates a dress where the print of the bodice is reversed and enlarged on the skirt. Tweed, as always, is reimagined in new ways: as a sophisticated hunting jacket or as an unexpected cardigan. A modern couture suit takes the form of a pencil skirt and a small blazer that recalls a denim jacket. A street style version includes an oversized jacket in tweed lurex, for a 90s hip-hop vibe. Proportions are pushed to the extreme in both directions. Inspirations from different eras mix and merge as if passed through a filter.

Benjamin Benmoyal Presented Womenswear Fall 2022-2023 for Paris Fashion Week 2022

Original Article

Following graduation from Central Saint Martins (where he won the LVMH Grand Prix Scholarship), Benjamin Benmoyal, 31, worked for Alexander McQueen and Hermes before launching his own label in 2020. Since 2021, the brand has been presenting its collections at the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, as well as on the FHCM’s showroom: Sphre. Being a former commando paratrooper, he wanted to keep the sense of naivete he lost while serving in the military alive in his work. Because of this, he has created very unique fabrics, woven out of his childhood VHS and audio cassette tapes. Through the work of recycling charities and collecting dead stock from factories closed in the 2000s, he has industrialized this weaving technique and accumulated thousands of kilometers of cassette tapes. Benjamin’s designs are inspired by his Moroccan roots, focusing on the volumes and drapes of traditional outfits, and weaving striped fabrics reminiscent of Berber craft. The AW22 collection was inspired by Benjamin’s graduate collection through brutalist architecture. Long coats with structured squared shoulders as well as tailored pieces are now mixed with caftans and his signature woven striped fabrics. The silhouette gets more sophisticated and elegant while keeping a relaxed attitude.

24Fashion TV proudly presents: In the heart of Miami-Little Havana (8th Street and 15th Avenue) is the historic Domino Park, where the famous designer Yas Gonzalez has created a platform to support emerging local and international designers, during the Gay8-Libertad Festival in Miami.

Republic of Yas Fashion Week was inspired by the theme of this year’s Festival, Freedom. We are not only referring to the freedom of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua or other countries. We talk about freedom of gender, expression and all the freedoms you can imagine. The designer stated.

This show is curated by Yas who was the first Cuban-American to participate in the Dubai Royal Gala along with Princess Hend Bint Faisal Al-Qasimi, at the Versace Palace. She was also the first Cuban-American to walk the second most important catwalk in the United States, Vancouver Fashion Week. Yas participated in the fashion week of Paris, London, and New York.

She has been published in Vogue, L’official, Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamor and digital sites of the fashion industry; Yas decided to support her colleagues by creating this platform to give other designers the opportunity she was never given when she started her career.

Positioning Calle Ocho as a prestigious venue for the first time during this event, the designer turns this parade into a new market for brands, celebrities, models, and the beauty industry in our community. GayOcho-Libertad Festival and Republic of Yas will transform this enchanting jewel into a Haute Couture Fashion Show.

We have the presence and support of the Fashion for a Cause foundation, Carly’s Cosmetics, the models from Imagen Modeling and House of Top Models. The audiovisual by Alternativo Art and Miami Fashion Films. The show will be led by Viviam Maria, founder and host of the radio show “Cubaneando” at WDNA.
